Planning your photo shoot should be exciting, fun and stress-free. As a Brand Photographer, My priority is to make this process seamless for you! I always like to start off by getting to know the vision and purpose that you have for your small business by providing you with an in-depth questionnaire. Once we’ve gone over your questionnaire, I get to work on creating your personalized Branding shoot plan, which is used to organize the day of shooting! This guide will include locations, shot list ideas, and a timeline for the day we photograph your business!

Finding the perfect location

One of the most important parts of planning your photo shoot will be picking the location that best represents your company! The first step is identifying if you have an area you could use, for example: Your own home, a relative’s home, a local coffee shop, or even a nearby studio in your area. If you’re reading this and you are telling yourself, “My home doesn’t have ideal lighting” or “My space isn’t clean or big enough,” That’s totally fine. At this step, I would send over a list of recommendations for spaces that fit your style!

Planning your shoot indoor or outdoor

What goes along with planning your photo shoot is determining if your location will take place indoors or outdoors. If you’re wanting indoor space, imagine your shoot taking place at your local coffee shop, a clean studio space, or even booking a home on Peer-Space. If you’re thinking that an outdoor location would be better, we will discuss various locations near you! When choosing an outdoor location, there are just a few factors we have to keep in mind. Planning your photo shoot outdoors will most likely require us to shoot during golden hour, or, in other words, close to sunset time. This allows us to capture you with the best lighting of the day.

Choosing two locations

You’re planning your photo shoot, but you can’t decide between an indoor and outdoor location. That’s okay; instead of choosing between both options, we can do both! A bit more strategy goes into this, like making sure we shoot the indoor portion first to preserve your hair and makeup. This also allows us plenty of time to drive from one location to the next to arrive by golden hour.

Don’t let this overwhelm you, part of hiring a Brand Photographer is getting my experience to help you choose what’s best for your photo shoot!
